What Is It?
The Transfer Out Request service allows F-1 students to request the transfer of their SEVIS record from Salt Lake Community College (SLCC) to another SEVP-certified school, college, or university in the United States.
Once the transfer is completed, the new institution will gain access to your SEVIS record and will be responsible for issuing your next Form I-20.
International Student Services (ISS) will review your eligibility, verify your transfer documentation, and coordinate the transfer release process.
Typical processing time is 3–5 business days.
Who or What is Eligible?
You may be eligible to request a Transfer Out if you:
- Are currently enrolled or maintaining valid F-1 status at SLCC.
- Have been accepted by another SEVP-certified school, college, or university.
- Intend to continue your studies at another institution.
- Need your SEVIS record transferred to your new school.
Students must be in good standing and meet all applicable immigration requirements before a transfer can be processed.
How Do I Make a Request or Report an Issue?
Before submitting your request:
- Obtain an acceptance letter, admission letter, or welcome letter from your new school.
- Complete any transfer forms required by your new institution.
