Salt Lake Community College now uses Global Protect as an 'Always On' VPN (virtual private network) to comply with Cybersecurity best practices.
When you first log in to your system a browser window will automatically open prompting you for you login, these credentials will be your @SLCC.EDU Username and network password.
NOTE! You could potentially be asked for your Windows Hello PIN or facial recognition.
You will see a Paloalto GlobalProtect screen.
On a Windows device, if you look on your toolbar at the bottom right you will see a smaller GlobalProtect screen connecting. If asked to verify you trust the connection, please verify that you do trust GlobalProtect for the connection to be possible.
On a MacOS device, the image for GlobalProtect and the status of your connection is found at the top right of your screen. Similar to Windows, be sure to trust the connection if prompted.
Once connected this smaller GlobalProtect screen will show CONNECTED. Once this is connected, you can close the browser tab that opened for GlobalProtect and continue with your regular activities.;
