Frequently Asked Questions
How do I check the status of a request?
See reference guide “ServiceNow - Request Search, Adding Comments, Editing Attachments”.
How do I update or edit a previously submitted request?
You can open the Request by clicking the “REQ” link within the email sent to the submitter. Or you can navigate to the request in ServiceNow (see reference guide “ServiceNow - Request Search, Adding Comments, Editing Attachments”). Editing information in the original request is very limited to uploading new documentation and commenting. If you need changes to a Request, then add those details into the comments section.
Can I view a request submitted by another person?
For other SLCC staff to view the request, the “submitter” will need to add the additional staff’s email to the “Additional Email You Would Like Added to Watchlist” field on the “Notice of Expected Payment” request form. Staff can also “Submit a Question” on the ServiceNow site asking for a Request to be reassigned to another SLCC staff.
Can more than one person be added to a ServiceNow “request”?
For other SLCC staff to view the request, the “submitter” will need to add the additional staff’s email to the “Additional Email You Would Like Added to Watchlist” field on the “Notice of Expected Payment” request form. Staff can also “Submit a Question” on the ServiceNow site asking for a Request to be reassigned to another SLCC staff.
Can I customize the name/title of the request, so it is easier to track?
Unfortunately, ServiceNow Request forms do not have this feature. Therefore, we recommend departments develop a naming convention to use within the Request form to help when searching for specific Requests.
Can I receive additional training on using the Controller’s ServiceNow site?
Yes. You can request additional training by contacting us at 801-957-4204 or making a request by using the “Submit a Question” form on ServiceNow.
