This KB gives instructions on how to setup a Yubikey for Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)

Criteria

Only individuals who are currently enrolled students, employed staff, or faculty members at SLCC can use this access.

How to setup a Yubikey for Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)

A YubiKey is a FIDO2 token that provides the most secure form of passwordless authentication.

If you need to purchase a FIDO2 token, please see the links at the bottom of this article for suggested products.

2. Click on Add sign-in method.

3. Drop-down, Choose “Security Key” and click Add.

4. Choose USB Device and click Next.

5. Have your Key Ready to be inserted into the USB port.

6. Insert the YubiKey and Set up a new PIN for your security key (minimum 6 numbers)

7. Touch your security key to complete the request. (Will prompt you to touch it a second time.)

8. Enter a name of your security and click Next.

9. Click Done to complete the registration process.

Sign in with your security key (YubiKey)

11. Select “Use Windows Hello or a security key”.

12. Insert your security key and touch it.

13. Enter your security key PIN and click Next.

14. Touch the security key to complete the sign-in.

15. Select the Don't show this again and then click Yes to complete the log in.
