How to work with Project Management Tasks in TeamDynamix

 
Description

This KB gives instructions on how to add work hours to a task, update percent complete of a task, and how to complete subtasks (card wall plans only).
 
 
Criteria

  • Access to the TDNext and the correct Projects application
  • Added as a resource on the correct Project
 
 
How to Add Work Hours to a Task

  1. Open the main task/card
  2. Navigate to the “Work” tab
  3. Choose the time type, hours, and brief description to record
  4. Repeat step 3 as needed

Note: You can also add time for a singular date from the “General” tab, Actions > Update

 

How to Update Percent Complete of a Task

Note: Setting percent complete to 100% will mark a task as completed. For a card wall, not all subtasks need to be completed in order for the main task to be set to 100%.

How to Complete a Subtask (card wall only)


Subtasks can be added to main tasks on card wall plans. On a waterfall plan, child tasks behave as main tasks; see above for adding hours and marking complete.

You can view subtasks associated with a main task while looking at the dashboard sidebar, but you cannot edit or complete them from there. In order to edit or complete a subtask:

  1. Navigate to the card wall
  2. Open the main task/card
  3. You can check off subtasks from the “Subtasks” tab

Note: Percent complete will automatically adjust based on the number of subtasks created/completed. You can manually change the percent complete from the “Card” tab.
