Welcome to the OIT Training website! This page is intended to act as a hub for OIT Training information like the current schedule, how to register for classes, and additional training resources.
As a service provided to SLCC staff and faculty, our OIT Training Department provides a wide variety of training resources. These resources are intended to support Salt Lake Community College faculty and staff in becoming proficient with computing resources and applications. Training topics range from Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint to Banner, Adobe Acrobat, and Microsoft Teams

Part tech translator, part problem‑solver, TAMI ANDERSON has been helping SLCC folks feel confident with their tools since 2016—after two years decoding mysteries on the Help Desk (2014–2016). She’s a lifelong learner with an Associate in General Studies from SLCC (2007), a Bachelor’s in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Central Florida (2010), and an MFA in Film from Vermont College of Fine Arts (2018). Tami focuses on clear, hands‑on instruction that helps the SLCC community use technology confidently and effectively and turning “I’m stuck” into “I’ve got this.
Fueled by a love of rainbows, llamas, and all things Lord of the Rings, CASS SIMMONS joined the OIT Training team in August 2023. Before coming to SLCC, Cass worked for the University of Utah for over 6 years, brought her skills to West Valley City, and opened her own business. She is known for her collaborative, approachable style and commitment to clear, supportive communication. As an IT Trainer, Cass blends technical know-how with a people-first mindset to help colleagues feel confident navigating tools every day. Her patience, persistence, and passion bring a balance of joy and clarity to every project she touches.
