- Setting up the Microsoft Authenticator App for Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)

When setting up Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) options with your college account the below is the instruction for setting up the Microsoft Authenticator app.

1. After selecting the Authenticator App option, the following dialog should appear:

2. Select the option to "download now" (if you are completing this process from your phone), OR:

Open the app store on your device (Apple App Store or Google Play Store).

Search for the Microsoft Authenticator app published by Microsoft Corporation or scan one of the QR codes below.

Download and install the Microsoft Authenticator mobile app on your smartphone.

3. On your computer, Select Next to continue setting up the app.

4. On your phone

- Open the Microsoft Authenticator app.
- Tap + to add an account. Select Work or School account.
- Now select Scan a QR code.

5. On your computer, Select Next again, and now you should be presented with a QR code. The following QR code is an example and cannot be used.

6. On your phone, Scan the QR code using your phone. Your Salt Lake Community College account will be added to the app.

7. On your computer, click Next. A test notification will be sent to your phone.

8. Approve the notification on your phone.

9. You have officially completed the enrollment. Select Done on your computer screen.
