How To Map Your Missing Network Drive(s)
The following steps will assist you in mapping your network drive. Please go to the Section based on your Computer Operating System.
NOTE:
Students/Staff/Faculty - Make sure you are connected on the campus network to our Eduroam network before you start this process.
Staff/Faculty: Working off campus, make sure you are using the school VPN (Big-IP Edge Client) before you start this process.

- How To Map the Network Drives H & I:\ Drive (In Windows 10)
- First, make sure you are connected on the campus network or from home using the VPN (Big-IP Edge Client) before you start this process.
- Go to the file explorer located on your taskbar.
- Or Go to the search field in the bottom left corner and type ‘File’ then left click on File Explorer App when you see it.
- Once it opens go to the left side and click on This PC.
- Check your Network Locations showing and see if you have the H and I Drive(s) there.
- If they are then you are good.
- If they are missing, then do the following steps.
- Make sure you are still on “This PC”
- In that window look at the top and you should see 3 tabs: File, Computer and View
- Click on Computer
- A list of choices appears, the 5th item should be Map Network Drive, please click on the drive icon.

- A window will appear with Drive and Folder choices.

- Change the Drive from Z to either H or I depending on which drive is missing.
- In the Folder section type the following:
- H: Drive \\fschome\home$\Capital Last Name Initial\username\
- Last Name Initial should be Capitalized.
- SLCC Username
- Example: John Smith - \\fschome\home$\S\jsmith000\
- I: Drive path is \\ucssmb\dept$
- Once you type the one, just hit return or enter on your keyboard.
- Your drive is mapped and will show up at startup and open on your screen.

- How To Map the Network Drives H & I:\ Drive (In Windows 11)
- First, make sure you are connected on the campus network or from home using the VPN (Big-IP Edge Client) before you start this process.
- Open File Explorer – Go to Search Box and type File.
- Go to This PC
- On the 2nd line, to the right of view there are 3 horizontal dots. Click on the 3 dots.
- Select Map network drive
- In the Drive selection, pull down to the drive letter you are mapping: H or I

- In the Folder section type the following:
- H: Drive \\fschome\home$\last name initial\username\
- Last Name Initial should be Capitalized.
- SLCC Username
- Example: John Smith - \\fschome\home$\S\jsmith000\
- I: Drive path is \\ucssmb\dept$
- Once you type the one, just hit return or enter on your keyboard.
- Your drive is mapped and will show up at startup and open on your screen.

- How To Map the H & I Drive (In MacOS)
First, make sure you are connected on the campus network or from home using the VPN (Big-IP Edge Client) before you start this process.
- Open Finder
- There are 2 ways to do this.
- Option 1: Apple (Command) + K
- Option 2: On the Menu Bar, make sure the word next to the APPLE on the left says Finder.
- On the Menu Bar select Go
- Then select Connect to Server.

- In the Server Address field, Type in:
- H: Drive: smb://fschome/home$/LAST NAME INITIAL/username/
- Last Name Initial should be Capitalized.
- SLCC Username
- Example: John Smith - smb://fschome/home$/S/jsmith000/
- I: Drive path is: smb://uscsmb/dept$
- Once you type the one, just hit return on your keyboard or click submit on the screen.
- Your drive is mapped and will show up at startup and open on your screen.
