When you are on Campus or connected via VPN you shall be prompted to sign into SLCC.INT, followed by approve automatically sign-in, and sync your SLCC.INT Active Directory and local Mac password.
Mapping Network shares on a Mac and Creating shortcuts to Network shares on the sidebar in Finder.
The Kerberos single sign-on will always connect to SLCC.int when available but does not have a way to auto mount network shares like Enterprise Connect and we have yet to find scripts for Network drives or adding shortcuts to the side bar that that doesn’t have the potential to impact what users are already doing.
In the Finder Go > Connect to Server… or Command K
Department Share I: Drive path is smb://ucssmb/dept$
To get the path for your home drive first take the base share path;
smb://fschome/home$
Next add the second letter of your username as it is in your official SLCC records, for example if your username was ‘bbruin’
smb://fschome/home$/b/
Finally add your SLCC username to the end of this path, for example if your username was ‘bbruin’;
smb://fschome/home$/b/bbruin/
You can then create a shortcut by click and holding the Share’s name at the top of the Finder Window, an icon will appear which you can drag to the sidebar and add it to your Favorites.
Whenever you’re on campus or connected to the VPN clicking on that shortcut will connect, mount, and open your network share for use.
