SLCC authenticator is set to expire every 90 days on each device, which will prompt you to authenticate every few months. If you are constantly being prompted to authenticate, this may be due to having multiple computers, phones, and/or applications that need to be refreshed. These multiple saved authentications set your account into a “re-authenticate mode” that causes more prompts than normal.
NOTE: If you are not allowing cookies to be saved on your device, or your clear your cookies, you will also experience this behavior, but that is what would be expected.
There are two things you can try to address this issue:
Option One – Log Out Of Everything (all operating systems)
1. Navigate to the MySLCC login page (my.slcc.edu). In the Account Assistance section, click on Manage Your Security Info.
2. You will be prompted to log in with your SLCC account credentials (staff: username@slcc.edu. Student: username@bruinmail.slcc.edu)
3. You will be taken to your accounts Security Information section. It will be here that all of your sigh-in methods are listed. In the lower left-hand corner is the option to sign out of all devices and applications.
You will need to authenticate again on all your devices and applications after this, but this should resolve the issue.
Option Two – Apple Native Mail App (iOS operating system only)
We have seen issues with iPhones and the native Apple Mail application that was set up before the implementation of the MFA process. Follow these steps.
1. Remove your SLCC profile in the native app and then re-add it. This will set up the app with the new authentication method.
If you are still being prompted more than you'd expect, contact the help desk
If neither of these resolve the issue, please contact the Help Desk for additional troubleshooting with the device/application.
