SLCC created the AI Literacy Credential to help faculty and staff develop the knowledge and skills needed to use artificial intelligence responsibly, effectively, and ethically in their work. The credential recognizes participants who successfully complete the course and demonstrate foundational AI literacy competencies.
Who should earn the AI Literacy Credential?
The AI Literacy Credential is available to all SLCC faculty and staff. Whether you are completely new to AI or already experimenting with tools such as Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, or other generative AI applications, this credential will help you build practical skills and a deeper understanding of how AI can support your work.
I've already been using AI tools. Do I still need to take the AI Literacy Credential course?
The AI Literacy Credential is optional, but earning the credential is strongly encouraged. This course provides a structured approach to understanding AI capabilities, limitations, ethical considerations, and effective prompting techniques. Experienced users may discover new strategies and tools, while beginners can build a solid foundation for future learning.
