Description
A project template determines which components are visible on the left menu when your project is live: Announcements, Briefcase, Calendar, Issues, Links, Plans, etc. A plan template determines which tasks, milestones, categories, etc. are prepopulated on the plan when the template is applied.
When staffing a project request, you have the opportunity to apply a project template. It is recommended that you use the “IT – General” template for most project requests. See Article - How to Submit a Project Request in TeamDynamix for additional steps in that process.
It is advised that each team create templates of plans for things they do often. Because a plan template must be tied to a project template, this article will start by explaining how to create a project template and then will dive into plan templates.
