How To Address Questionable or SPAM Faxes Received through Ring Central
First, work to determine if the fax is legitimate.
The Information Security Officers recommend first trying to determine if the message is valid by contacting the phone number / or business via their publicly available contact information. This way you can try and confirm whether the message is legitimate from the legitimate source.
If you are still unsure if the fax is valid, reach out to the Information Security Officers.
These could be a suspected robocall with pages of attachments that you do not want to open up, which you are suspecting is of a threat potential. Please let us know if you have any concerns about the validity of a fax you received: InfoSec@slcc.edu.
If the fax is NOT valid or if the Information Security Officers instruct you to do so, block and report the incident.
If you have confirmed that the fax is not legitimate or if you were instructed to do so by the Information Security Officers, you can block and report the incident by following these steps:
1. Go to your fax tab within RingCentral
2. Right click on the 3 ellipses
3. Click the "Block and report" option from the list
