This KB gives instructions on how to configure blocked calls for Ring Central.

How to configure Ring Central to block calls.

Users can configure which calls can be connected to their number on the Blocked Calls settings. You may select to block all calls and only allow specific numbers or allow calls and block only specific numbers.

 

Block Specific Calls and Faxes

 

1. Log in to your RingCentral Online account.

2. Go to Settings > Screening, Greetings, & Hold Music.

3. Click Blocked Calls.

4. Under Block option, click drop-down list and select Specific calls and faxes.

5. Enter Phone Numbers or Area Codes in the text box under Only block these numbers or area codes.

6. Click Add and Save the changes.

 

You can also configure the following settings:

 

Callers will hear

 

1. Click Edit.

2. Under View In, select from the drop-down list your own language to display the default greeting text.

3. Select the preferred message that your callers will hear, then click Done.

 

Block calls with no caller ID

 

Select None to allow callers with no caller ID, or block Calls and Faxes, or Faxes only.

 

Block calls from pay phones

 

1. Tick to enable this option to block calls from pay phones.

2. Click Edit to select the message that blocked pay phone callers will hear.

3. Under View In, select from the drop-down list your own language to display the default greeting text.

4. Select the preferred message that your callers will hear, then click Done.

 

Block All Calls

 

1. Log in to your RingCentral Online account.

2. Go to Settings > Screening, Greetings, & Hold Music.

3. Click Blocked Calls.

4. Under Block option, click drop-down list and select All calls.

5. Enter Phone Numbers or Area Codes in the text box under Allowed numbers and area codes.

6. Click Add and then Save the changes.

 

You can also configure the following settings:

 

Callers will hear

 

This option allows you to select your own language to display the default greeting text. Your selection here affects only your current view of the greeting text, it will not change the Greetings Language setting.

 

1. Click Edit.

2. Under View In, select from the drop-down list your own language to display the default greeting text.

3. Select the preferred message that your callers will hear, then click Done.

 

Block Calls from pay phones

 

Enable to block calls from pay phones. You may also configure what blocked pay phone callers will hear.

 

1. Tick to enable this option to block calls from pay phones.

2. Click Edit to select the message that blocked pay phone callers will hear.

3. Under View In, select from the drop-down list your own language to display the default greeting text.

4. Select the preferred message that your callers will hear, then click Done.
